iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6 rumors: release date, leaked components photos, features and more

Here is a short summary of all the rumors and leaks that have emerged about the two smartphones this past week.

The most popular rumor about the iPhone 5S is the one revolving around the possible gold/champagne color option.

Numerous leaked photos have surfaced these past days in support of these claims.

One such proof is a set of 70 photos of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C posted by designer Sonny Dickson on his official website, containing shots of a champagne gold model.

Also, the back panels of the gold and black version are captured in pics posted by App Advice.

Well-known blogger Rene Ritchie cited his own sources who credited the idea of a gold iPhone.

In addition, TechCrunch columnist MG Siegler explained that the handset will feature a color that will be “less ‘gold’ and more ‘champagne’”.

Japanese website ASCII.JP posted pictures of an iPhone 5S golden case, in comparison to the colors of the current iPhone.

Finally, Reuters joined the trend by reporting that an iPhone 5S in a “champagne” nuance is in the pipeline at Apple.

Regarding the possible release date, reports have suggested that Apple may launch the smartphones on the market on September 20.

In China the devices will be available two months later, in November. The delay is motivated by the fact that the two iPhones have yet to pas the verification process, provided by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Analyst speculation is also rife, but as always Apple hasn’t confirmed any theory.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will offer the iPhone 5C as a mid-range smartphone with a selling price around $ 400 and $ 500, and replace the current iPhone 5 with the iPhone 4S in emerging markets.

He also says Apple and China Mobile will reach an agreement for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C this year.

In addition, Kuo expects Apple to ship more units of the iPhone 5C than the iPhone 5S, due to difficulties in the manufacturing process.

However, he estimates that shipments of the iPhone 5S will increase by 438 % during the holiday season.

Sonny Dickson has claimed this week that the iPhone 5C won’t be available in a black version, just the five colors that have leaked recently, namely white, blue, pink, yellow and green.
